About the event
Our 6th Annual Our (Black) Marriages Matter Symposium & Conference, A Free Community Event Recognizing and Celebrating Successful Black Marriages.
Marriage Built 2 Lasts presents Our Black Marriages Matter Symposium and Conference in recognition of National Black Marriage Day which is being recognized on March 23rd, 2024. Our company Marriage Built 2 Last has started a Global Marriage Movement that’s been in effect for the past 10 years. For National Black Marriage Day, we want to celebrate 'Successful Black Married Couples' and impact marriages in our community. We are giving back to our community by making this a free event for everyone. DONATIONS WELCOMED.
Our 1st goal is to have a symposium where we discuss the current state and current statistics on the state of our black marriages, community, family, kids, and education. We plan to inspire, educate, train, and inform our community on how we can improve and grow our economy. Marriage and the family have a huge impact on the community and economy. Right now marriage is on the decline and blacks who get married have drastically declined. We want to reignite, re-excite, and re-train people on what marriage is really all about. For this initiative, we will recognize THE LONGEST MARRIED COUPLES! Nominate yourself or someone you know. Let everyone be inspired by sharing their story! (info@marriagebuilt2last.com). We are inviting our state and local politicians, local community and business leaders, Pastors, leaders in marriage, families, businesses, and ministries. We will have light entertainment to enhance the message of strong and committed marriages, community, and family. This event is for newlyweds, engaged, couples seriously dating, singles, and marrieds and is family-friendly. Everyone must register to attend.
Note: Nisa I. Muhammad, of Washington, DC, created Black Marriage Day, later to be a National Day, to strengthen Black families. The Black Marriage Movement's mission is to decrease the high divorce rate in the Black community by promoting and strengthening marriages through education, recreation, and celebration. It is an annual celebration of marriage and family, and its importance in the African-American community.
